Inimitable Pictures was founded in 2006 by Nimitt Mankad, with the goal of developing, financing, and releasing high quality films. He has been working in media/entertainment for the past 14 years to develop and produce feature films and television.
Nimitt’s first foray in film began when he left college for Los Angeles, after two screenplays he developed were purchased by a private financing group. Nimitt helped build and acquire a series of entertainment assets featuring The Mint, a legendary blues supper club in LA. Soon Mint Records was born and his work helped secure a major label deal with DreamWorks Music in late 1998. The group partnered with Steven Baldwin and Robert Downey, Jr. on several projects, creating Mint Pictures, where he was a partner and responsible for the company’s slate of projects.
He then joined Michael Ovitz’s Artists Management Group where he assisted the senior production team in developing, tracking, and packaging APG projects including Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York, Sidewalks of New York and numerous projects in various stages of development.
Returning to New York, Nimitt co-founded The Film Movement (www.filmmovement.com), a first of its kind distributor of independent films which has released almost 70 Award winning independent films to date, including Sundance winner Manito, Toronto Winner Marion Bridge, among others. UPDATE LIST
Most recently, he advised the founders of A Matter of Substance Television (www.amostv.com) to build from scratch an HD Network backed by the Merhav Group, a multi-billion dollar holding company based in Israel.
Nimitt was a director in training at Carnegie Hall, with theater legend Wynn Handman for nearly two years and has a number of feature films and television projects in development.
